There are not many places as amazing to view the Milky Way as southern Utah. I made this image on a backpacking trip in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. 

Caribou Lake Milky Way Reflections

I made this image by first backpacking out to Caribou Lake on the northern end of the Trinity Alps Wilderness in northern California. I then made a two-row panorama to capture the sky and the lake reflecting the Milky Way.  After hours of processing and editing, I was left with this image. 

Bison Dust Bath

I photographed this bison stomping around in the dust in Yellowstone NP. I used a 600mm telephoto lens to safely capture this image.

Oaxaca Portal #1

Still life in Oaxaca. The street light's shadows on the cobbled street and grated window combine to make a pleasing street scene.

This incredible landscape is found near the city of Zhangjiajie in the Hunan province of China.

Yangshuo #1

I photographed this valley near Yangshuo south of Guilin while on a adventure in China. The karst topography is a result of weathering resulting from the region's climate playing out over millions of years. 

Old Humboldt Startrail

This image is made by creating a timelapse, in this case about 12 hours long, and then stacking all of the images together so that the star tracks combine into trails. This image was made just outside of Chico in northern California.
