Meet Amabie (#アマビエ), a mysterious creature that was first documented in 1846 in Japan. A government official was investigating a strange green light spotted in the sea. When he arrived at the place, a glowing-green merperson with fishy scales, long hair, three legs and a beak emerged from the water. Amabie introduced itself to the man and predicted two things: a rich harvest and a pandemic. However, the creature instructed that in order to stave off the disease, people should draw an image of it
