An ode to the quintessential Papi Juice club baddie. Papi Juice is an art collective that aims to affirm and celebrate the lives of queer and trans people of color. The beauty of our community is in the many identities we hold. Imagine the breadth of these people and the infinite multitudes we carry every day — the outfits, the hairstyles, the legacies, the code switching, the commutes, the safety — the constant negotiation of all of these things. At the club, bring your entire self or leave these things at home (or maybe just in coat check). In the words of Kelis: “We control the dancefloor.” This piece was commissioned for the Voice NFT residency.
