Frog

On the very first Earth Day in 1970, I was in the fourth grade. Our whole school was participating in events, including painting a playground mural, planting trees, and picking up trash. 

We also had a poster contest, and our teacher explained the meaning of the expression, ¨like a frog in boiling water." After asking her repeatedly why anyone would boil a frog, we immersed ourselves in the task of creating a poster with this as the theme. I didn´t win the contest, but I remember the winning poster had a frog floating leisurely in a pot of water, his hands(?) clasped behind his head, with a big smile on his face. 

Fifty-two years later, I am sharing this AI artwork that was inspired by that day and the happy times I spent traipsing through our family´s wooded property in rural Oregon.
