About the piece

Impending Doom is a 24"x36" acrylic and gel pen on canvas. In all reality, we all die eventually. In the distant future, there will be cataclysmic destruction of our solar system. This is inevitable, much like aging. The Milky Way is on a collision course with the Andromeda galaxy, all while our solar system travels over 200 kilometers per second around a super massive light and mass devouring black hole. Given time, we will be the ancestors that warned our unborn generations of the future. Do not take this warning lightly, and prepare for evacuation! It would seem we have several million years to prepare, so don't procrastinate. The music and painting work along side one another in an elaborate display that uses scary diminished tones and minor scales with arpeggios. They symbolize the utter chaos of beauty in this ultimate cataclysm, as the electromagnetic spectrum and rainbow of life is eaten by death itself. Life is short, we don't take anything with us when we die.
