Degrees of Engagement

How can I feel a void inside when the entire reality around me flashes with signals? And once I feel it, how can I fill it? Being in the matrix, absorbing the inputs, picking up the beat of the endless walk and keeping a gaze far off in the distance and two feet on the concrete, therefore replenishing the latter with a cosmic mental texture, seem decent ideas to begin with.
