Rewired Flies

Neuroengineers led by Rice University created wireless magnetic technology to remotely activate specific brain circuits in fruit flies in under one second. The long-term goal of this research is to create methods for activating specific regions of the human brain for therapeutic purposes, without having to perform surgery.
