THE NOTHING IN BETWEEN: II. WHEN EVERYTHING ELSE FALLS AWAY

THE NOTHING IN BETWEEN is a three-part experiential sonic collection based on the idea of the imperceivable space where darkness meets light. When we refer to objects, we’re also implying “the lack of” something else. For example, light is the absence or lack of darkness; And darkness is the absence of light. Therefore, what is the absence of both light and darkness? The point of this question is to allude at something beyond our empirical knowledge. Practitioners of Zen Buddhism call this the “awakening”. Part II of this collection is an ethereal and spontaneous soundscape that depicts the abstract tension of an inner battle. The staccato cello melody warps in and out of perception and beckons the listener to move their body however they feel.
