Chapter 1: Self-love

This piece is an ironic depiction of learning self-love. Self-love wasn't talked about much when I was growing up. My emotional well-being suffered from lack of understanding and how to achieve Self-love. It took years of uncertainty and compassion for me to finally give myself the love I deserved. I realized that, while receiving love from others is important it is even more important to show ourselves the love we require to keep going. The love we require to feel okay, to feel alive. To regain our strength. Accept ourselves and stand proud. Although it's not an easy journey, everything eventually makes sense after we realize we deserve all the love we desire.
