Black Lives Matter

This is my third piece of digital art created for the Voice/New York Academy of Art NFT collection. The theme is Juctice and Equity. I wanted to explore people currently at the forefront of Justice and Equity in America. The Black Lives Matter Movement, formed after the murders of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Pamela Turner, Rekia Boyd, and many others at the hands of Law enforcement officers (and "self-appointed" law enforcement officers). The organization works as a decentralized clearing house for information and organized actions. While there have been various controversies around the organization's fund raising activities, they have worked tirelessly for the Justice and Equity of American citizens. This video is a celebration of the founders Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi. Artistically, I wanted it to be a straightforward tribute to these courageous women.
