This artwork is apart of a series responding to the theme of equity/justice. Responding to the theme of what equality/justice means to me the first thing that comes to mind is community. I think that a great first step to acknowledge the importance of community is about recognising the unseen members of society as a whole. This series focuses on acknowledging black women. Acknowledgment through placing black women in scenes of divinity & peace. To acknowledge & free black womanhood through the space of celebration & not through pain or harmful stereotypes.
