About the piece

The Land of Milk & Honey is a home-age to home. Your body, your city, every place & home in human form. A letter written for the feeling I hope every artwork evokes: I want to move all the furniture & then move it all back. I want to paint something & leave the brushes to bristle all because I decided to go wash my hair. I move every plant in the room, just to forget to water them. The plants will make a jungle on the balcony with broken glass windows. I rummage around the city like a tourist, I find old photos sleeping in nostalgia for what feels like ten minutes. Suddenly it's dusk. I throw a handful of olives in my hand & pour some Lebanese wine while closing my eyes at the same time. I light some candles, open all the windows, change the sheets & fall asleep early or not sleep at all but run out—dance the night away to forget & also remember, because nothing excites me or scares me more than home [stares into the long asymmetrical mirror, then out the window at the faded stars].
