Priya and Amiya

sisters, Priya and Amiya for the series 'mixed' This series, titled ‘mixed’ explores the experience of being biracial with part Indian or Desi heritage and features a number of Indian women and non-binary individuals who participated in this ongoing project that first began in the summer of 2018. My work often explores stories close to home and I really wanted to create a dialogue for the experiences that we have as mixed desi individuals. Using art and photography to embrace my identity as a half-Indian and half-Italian person has not only been liberating but also allowed me to find community in the UK, India and Italy. I am grateful for those who opened up to me about their stories, lives, and identities and shared this trust with me :)
